Since festival season is around the corner, I thought this is the best time to write about the best makeup brands and products to look for when you are buying makeup. With so many choices these days specially at a large multi retail makeup store like Sephora, choosing the right makeup product according to your skin, liking can be really overwhelming.
So here are few Makeup Tips on How to choose the right Makeup :
When purchasing eye makeup, one should look at the quality of the pigment, as in how strong is the color when you take it on the brush. It really should be strong enough otherwise it wouldn’t stay. Some of my favorites are Sephora, Makeup Forever and Beauty UK. When choosing the colors, I definitely think about the time of the year I am buying the colors, for example this autumn season is full of plums and browns and deep reds. For seasonal trends you can come back and check this section since we keep updating new trends. I always feel that natural nude shades with browns and bronzes look perfect on indian skin and any occasion.
The same rule applies to lip colors as well. Although for lipsticks I would usually look at the long staying power and the finish (Matte or glossy). I personally love matte shades better and I choose colors that give a fuller effect to my lips. The colors this season is plum, my recent purchase for autumn is Sephora’s R18 – Oh! Oh!. Its a beautiful color – a mix of brown and pink and also makes me look fair
I like a little bit of coverage on my skin everyday because I have to go out – either at work or meeting friends. Also, If you don’t use any foundation that gives you an even skin tone, its difficult that any lip color or eyeshadow will blend well on your skin. For everyday use I wear Benefit’s powder based mineral foundation in summers and YSL’s natural foundation with SPF 15. Both these products are light to medium coverage so its perfectly ok to wear it everyday.
Blusher for me is very important in cold weather Since in Summers in India can be very difficult to wear makeup specially on cheeks. This season I am using MAC’s blusher in plum shade to go with my entire autumn look and beauty uk’s rose rouge for occasions.
Mascara – and i always say this is the best thing that ever happened in makeup. My all time favorite is Sephora’s dynamic volumnizing mascara in black. This is not waterproof, but i hardly wear any waterproof mascara simply because of the time it takes to remove it later.
To summarize my best bets are sephora and beauty uk for affordability and YSL, too faced, benefit, MAC for occasional wear.
I hope it will now be easier for you to buy products this season. Watch out this space for more trends in makeup and beauty
